John W. Linss

President / CEO

 

John Linss has over 28 years of experience in a variety of business & technology arenas. A serial entrepreneur, John has often provided executive coaching and speaks on topics ranging from sales & marketing to technology, healthcare, and business strategy. He also serves periodically as an adjunct professor in the Emory University Goizueta School of Business

As President/CEO of MedicaView International, Inc. (MVI), he is instrumental in defining and driving the emerging global healthcare market. His professional career has focused on establishing, acquiring, growing, or turning around innovative business ventures like FirstReef (SalesFusion), CCS, Giben America, BravePoint, ClearNova, and CoreSpeed. He employs proven techniques to strategically build teams and establish business foundations and systems capable of supporting rapid, profitable growth for his companies.

In 2008, John formed the CoreSpeed Incubator to facilitate innovative new businesses through the use of CoreSpeed’s technology platforms and unique business processes. The Incubator grants dedicated entrepreneurs access to CoreSpeed’s proven solutions in technology and business systems to accelerate time to sales or potential venture capital investment.

John also has interests in a number of businesses and non-profit organizations for which he provides guidance on a board level basis. His earlier career involved building companies in the industrial machinery business where he engineered rapid business growth in mature markets. His formal education includes Bachelor of Science majors in Economics and Interpersonal Communications at the University of Georgia. He writes occasionally for various publications and is a contributor, along with Dr. Steven Gerst, to the 2nd edition of Patients Beyond Borders

Steven Gerst MD, MBA, MPH, CHE

Dr. Gerst has nearly 30 years in healthcare. He trained in medicine at the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University in the City of New York. He also did his undergraduate work and a Masters in Public Health/Health Administration at Columbia University where he was cross registered into the Business and Law Schools to complete his degree in Health Administration. He is Board Certified in Medical Management and a Diplomat in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 

Dr. Gerst has been an officer of some of the largest healthcare organizations in the United States including SunHealth (now “Premier” with 1,800 US hospitals), and Columbia/HCA (now “Hospital Corporation of America”) where he was President and CEO of the PPO Division. He was also Senior Healthcare Consultant and Regional Medical Director for what is now PricewaterhouseCoopers, the largest US based accounting, audit and consulting firm.

Dr. Gerst brings deep clinical expertise to MedicaView’s programs and he thoroughly understands the hospital perspective and patient needs in the international marketplace. Dr. Gerst has been highly instrumental in establishing a continuity of care program for US patients who travel overseas and across borders for surgery as well as a surgical complications program for the company. He is an expert in health insurance having worked for some of the US largest insurers.

Dr. Gerst is frequently published and has recently authored the first chapter in a new textbook on International Finance (Kendall, Alan N., Ed., Nova Science Publishers, New York. 2007, and recently wrote an article published in the International Medical Travel Journal (London), “US Healthcare: America At The Crossroads,”. http://www.imtjonline.com/features/us-healthcare-america-at-the-crossroads, 2008. Mark Pew has 30 years of extensive experience in building large and small enterprise strategies for different types of businesses in healthcare, finance, and technology. His leadership has driven value and success for clients as they navigate business process engineering and strategic planning.

Since beginning his career in Information Technology 1979, Mark has held a variety of positions in development and management roles. He worked for 14 years at Equifax in various IT development roles, followed by 5 years at ChoicePoint where he managed large teams developing mission critical applications. He then joined Professional Reviews Inc as Chief Information Officer and designed and built an advanced clinical review and case management platform. Mark also has played a variety of roles in two IT start-ups.

Mark’s expertise lies in facilitating the across-the-board shift in thinking and commitment to innovation required for entering new markets and improving efficiency in existing enterprises. He is certified in MVI’s Enterprise Process Engineering (EPE) which is part of the methodology that MVI uses to help providers, facilitators, and employers define their strategies and objectives and to implement those strategies in an effective and profitable manner within the enterprise. His approach speeds this process and elevates its quality by automating, simplifying, measuring, directing, and managing the flow of information from department to department across the enterprise.

He has extensive knowledge across multiple areas including business process, technology, clinical case management and review.
