Jackson International Chooses MedicaView's Global Connect Medical TravelPlatform

Jackson International implements innovative services for patients
and their primary care physicians abroad

Through an alliance with MedicaView, Jackson International will provide online resources
for patients and their families traveling to Miami for complex medical and surgical procedures.
These tools permit their affiliate physician access to medical records and information with the patients consent, to better provide continuity of care for them.

Miami, June 15, 2009 –Jackson International announced an agreement with MedicaView to implement the Global Connect™ platform. This online tool will combine an innovative design for engaging international patients with MedicaView’s Global Distribution Platform for Healthcare™, and allow their doctors to follow up on their treatments at Jackson Memorial Hospital once the patient has signed a medical release form.  This program implementation will respond to the needs of international doctors as well as the medical tourists, particularly from Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East. It also streamlines the process of finding, comparing, and choosing Jackson Memorial Hospital’s healthcare products and services and integrates an online travel agent capability.

This agreement will also provide for the syndication of Jackson healthcare services across other sites such as DestinationMed.com (http://www.destinationmed.com) Global Patient Services Magazine(www.gps-magazine.com), and MedicaView.com (http://www.medicaview.com), with additional sites to be announced soon.

“Our new alliance will offer an innovative capability for continuity of care to ensure that when patients return home they will receive aftercare by Jackson International affiliated doctors who have access to comprehensive patient electronic medical records and information and direct connections to Jackson Memorial Hospital surgeons in a secure environment,” said Nancy Valenzuela, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Jackson International. “Now the information needed to make effective choices is easily available to all those who require high quality affordable care”, said Nancy Valenzuela.

It is expected that there will be multiple phases for the project with the first phase being a significant enhancement to content and usability of the International Services existing web site. Additional components will be added shortly thereafter. Travel options will be accessible directly from the site or through the Jackson Memorial medical assistant personnel.

“The syndication of Jackson healthcare provider data for medical travel extends the reach of high quality Jackson healthcare across the world”, said John Linss, President/CEO of MedicaView. “Jackson International has recognized that many patients want an alternative closer to their countries, the Jackson Memorial Hospital is the southernmost Level 1 trauma center in the United States with an established reputation for excellence in regions such as Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East.”

Jackson International’s implementation will include advanced multi-lingual portal and community (social networking) functionality together with eCommerce options to efficiently address the needs of patients and international affiliates through a robust and integrated environment. More details are forthcoming shortly regarding the dynamic search for services, continuity of care, and virtual conference capabilities of the Jackson International solution.

“In addition, the implementation of advanced patient engagement and management tools will provide the high-touch experience that patients expect when they are contemplating serious procedures,” Linss added.
